Six Week Support Groups for Vets

Six Week Support Groups for Vets

By Jamie Martin

To help address mental health needs within the veterinary profession, the Veterinary Hope Foundation is now offering a series of six-week virtual support groups. These small group sessions are designed to help veterinarians and support staff connect, decompress, and share experiences with others in similar roles.

Each support group consists of eight participants and meets once per week online. The sessions are tailored to ensure participants feel seen and supported in their unique career roles.

Affinity groups are available for specific categories such as veterinary specialists, clinic owners, general veterinarians, and vet technicians. Groupings are also based on experience levels and priorities to ensure meaningful peer-to-peer interaction.

Schedule of Upcoming Groups:

  • Veterinarian Specialists (Late Career): Starts August 5, Tuesdays at 8 PM ET
  • Veterinarian Owners: Starts August 6, Wednesdays at 9 PM ET
  • General Veterinarians: Starts September 17, Wednesdays at 8 PM ET
  • Veterinary Technicians and Teams: Starts September 18, Thursdays at 8 PM ET

The sessions are not a substitute for formal mental health care. Individuals facing a crisis should call or text 988 for immediate support from a trained counselor.

The Foundation’s goal is to create a space where veterinary professionals can share, reflect, and gain mental clarity in a non-judgmental environment.
