The North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Council will hold its next meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the State Capitol’s 6th floor conference room. This meeting will include discussions on various agriculture education project proposals. Those who wish to join by phone may contact Michelle Mielke at 701-328-2233 before the meeting starts.
The council meeting begins with a business session covering minutes and financial updates. After that, the council will hear funding requests from organizations and schools across North Dakota.
The first project presentation is from NDSU Agriculture Communication in Fargo, requesting $13,536 for updated North Dakota Ag Mags and Teachers Guides for 2025–2027.
Next, the North Dakota Farm Bureau Foundation in Fargo will present its “Food, Land & People: Making Connections” program, requesting $63,500 out of a total project cost of $122,500.
KAT Video Productions in Bismarck will showcase “From Farm to Future,” a video-based interactive education program for students, asking for $25,550.
Following a break, the Nome Schoolhouse will present its fiber curriculum project and request $27,000 for classroom supplies.
The North Dakota FFA Foundation will ask for $30,000 to support its mini-grants program.
Underwood Public School will share its “Operation Greenhouse” project, asking for $15,000 toward its $32,100 budget.
The North Dakota Geographic Alliance will request $6,000 for its Farm Tours project, presented virtually.
The Innovation School in Bismarck will request $1,000 for its “Farm to Fork” program.
Finally, the National Agricultural Genotyping Center in Fargo will request $40,000 for its “Nourish the Future” teacher training program.
