Explore Crop Research at NDSU Carrington Tour

By Scout Nelson

The NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center is set to host its annual Row Crop Tour on Thursday, August 21, 2025. This year, the event will follow a new morning schedule, starting at 8:30 a.m. with registration and social time.

Tour wagons will begin leaving the yard at 9:00 a.m., marking the start of a hands-on field program filled with practical updates for row crop farmers. The tour will conclude with a sponsored lunch, provided by the North Dakota Corn Utilization Council, North Dakota Soybean Council, Northarvest Bean Growers Association, and the National Sunflower Association.

The event will highlight key crops such as corn, soybeans, dry beans, and sunflowers. Topics will focus on agronomy, including crop fertility, precision agriculture, and the latest strategies for managing weeds and diseases. Attendees will hear from NDSU Extension specialists, Carrington REC research scientists, and a dry bean market specialist.

The Row Crop Tour is not only an informative event but also a great opportunity for networking and community engagement. It offers farmers, students, and agricultural professionals a chance to learn directly from experts in the field.

In addition, Certified Crop Advisers attending the tour can earn three Continuing Education Units (CEUs), making this event valuable for both knowledge and certification.
