For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.6 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 7% short, 73% adequate, and 18% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 7% short, 75% adequate, and 16% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 4% poor, 29% fair, 61% good, and 6% excellent. Soybeans planted was 97%, near 100% last year and 99% for the five-year average. Emerged was 80%, behind 96% last year and 94% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 30% fair, 62% good, and 7% excellent. Spring wheat emerged was 97%, near 100% both last year and average. Jointed was 45%, well behind 82% last year and 79% average. Headed was 3%, well behind 39% last year and 29% average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 13% fair, 84% good, and 2% excellent. Durum wheat emerged was 98%, near 96% last year, and equal to average. Jointed was 43%, behind 62% last year, and well behind 71% average. Headed was 2%, behind 17% last year and 16% average.

Winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 3% poor, 18% fair, 60% good, and 17% excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 95%, near 93% last year and 96% average. Headed was 54%, behind 70% last year and 73% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 28% fair, 58% good, and 12% excellent. Corn emerged was 93%, behind 99% last year, and near 97% average.

Canola condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 39% fair, 56% good, and 2% excellent. Canola emerged was 96%, near 94% last year and 98% average. Blooming was 15%, behind 30% last year and 27% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 10% very poor, 15% poor, 25% fair, 35% good, and 15% excellent.

Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 17% fair, 77% good, and 5% excellent. Oats emerged was 99%, near 100% last year and 98% average. Jointed was 65%, behind 83% last year and 76% average. Headed was 2%, well behind 26% last year and 24% average.

Barley condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 26% fair, 65% good, and 8% excellent. Barley emerged was 98%, near 100% last year and 99% average. Jointed was 56%, well behind 80% last year and 78% average. Headed was 2%, well behind 38% last year and 27% average.

Dry edible peas condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 20% fair, 77% good, and 2% excellent. Dry edible peas emerged was 96%, near 92% last year, and equal to average. Blooming was 4%, behind 23% last year, and well behind 36% average.
