Discovering opportunities for young agricultural enthusiasts, the North Dakota Farm Bureau (NDFB) Foundation has introduced a game-changing scholarship. This project aims not just to ease the financial burden of college for high school seniors but to ignite a lifelong commitment to agriculture advocacy.
The initiative, NDFB, is a comprehensive educational initiative that invites students to participate in a "How Did That Get in My Lunchbox?" program, designed for grades 2-5, to learn about the journey of agriculture from farm to table, with volunteering students at the forefront of this educational journey.
But that's not all! NDFB is no stranger to educational endeavors, with statewide initiatives like Special Assignment Pizza and Living Ag in the Classroom already in their repertoire. These programs delve deeper into the intricacies of agriculture, offering real-world insights and interactive learning.
The scholarship selection is unique, operating on a point system that values commitment. Volunteer hours translate to points, incentivizing students to engage deeply with their communities. Additional points are on the table for those who join the NDFB as student members, ensuring that the relationship between the students and the bureau extends beyond just scholarship.
With a generous sum of $2,500, the scholarship extends its arms to all interested high school seniors, with a deadline for applications on May 1, 2024. This isn't just about financial support; it's about fostering a community of informed, passionate agricultural advocates.
