For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.4 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 0% very short, 23% short, 72% adequate, and 5% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0% very short, 17% short, 78% adequate, and 5% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 34% fair, 54% good, and 9% excellent. Soybeans blooming was 86%, equal to last year, and near 84% for the five-year average. Setting pods was 38%, behind 55% last year and 52% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 19% fair, 67% good, and 13% excellent. Spring wheat headed was 95%, near 99% both last year and average. Coloring was 33%, well behind 81% last year and 74% average. Mature was 4%, well behind 38% last year, and behind 21% average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 15% fair, 77% good, and 7% excellent. Durum wheat headed was 93%, behind 98% both last year and average. Coloring was 17%, well behind 70% last year and 61% average.

Winter wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 13% fair, 72% good, and 14% excellent. Winter wheat coloring was 90%, near 94% both last year and average. Mature was 49%, well behind 77% last year and 70% average. Harvested was 18%, behind 29% last year, and near 22% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 20% fair, 64% good, and 15% excellent. Corn silking was 59%, behind 67% last year and 69% average. Dough was 7%, equal to both last year and average.

Canola condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 30% fair, 63% good, and 5% excellent. Canola coloring was 31%, well behind 53% last year, and behind 49% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 5% very poor, 8% poor, 37% fair, 45% good, and 5% excellent.

Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 19% fair, 69% good, and 12% excellent. Oats headed was 94%, behind 99% last year, and near 98% average. Coloring was 41%, well behind 80% last year and 72% average. Mature was 18%, well behind 39% last year, and behind 32% average.

Barley condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 27% fair, 61% good, and 11% excellent. Barley headed was 96%, near 98% both last year and average. Coloring was 42%, well behind 83% last year and 79% average. Mature was 12%, well behind 36% both last year and average.

Dry edible peas condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 15% fair, 79% good, and 5% excellent. Dry edible peas blooming was 96%, near 98% both last year and average. Dropping leaves was 24%, well behind 70% last year and 67% average.

Sunflower condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 17% fair, 74% good, and 8% excellent. Sunflowers blooming was 24%, well behind 44% last year, and behind 43% average.
