For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 1% very short, 10% short, 72% adequate, and 17% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 7% short, 77% adequate, and 14% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 4% poor, 28% fair, 63% good, and 5% excellent. Soybeans emerged was 97%, near 98% last year, and equal to the five-year average. Blooming was 8%, near 12% last year and 10% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 23% fair, 67% good, and 9% excellent. Spring wheat jointed was 58%, well behind 91% last year and 90% average. Headed was 12%, well behind 64% last year and 55% average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 11% fair, 85% good, and 3% excellent. Durum wheat jointed was 65%, behind 81% last year, and well behind 86% average. Headed was 10%, well behind 43% both last year and average.

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 12% fair, 62% good, and 22% excellent. Winter wheat headed was 86%, near 82% last year and 87% average. Coloring was 11%, behind 28% last year and 20% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 21% fair, 64% good, and 13% excellent. Corn emerged was 97%, near 100% last year and 99% average. Silking was 2%, near 1% average.

Canola condition rated 0% very poor, 4% poor, 33% fair, 60% good, and 3% excellent. Canola blooming was 32%, well behind 60% last year and 56% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 10% very poor, 15% poor, 30% fair, 35% good, and 10% excellent.

Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 10% fair, 83% good, and 7% excellent. Oats jointed was 74%, behind 91% last year and 88% average. Headed was 24%, well behind 51% last year and 50% average.

Barley condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 20% fair, 69% good, and 10% excellent. Barley jointed was 71%, well behind 91% both last year and average. Headed was 29%, well behind 62% last year and 56% average.

Dry edible peas condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 15% fair, 75% good, and 9% excellent. Dry edible peas blooming was 23%, well behind 53% last year and 59% average.
