The Crop Protection Product Harmonization and Registration Board will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, December 18, at 1 p.m. in the North Dakota Department of Agriculture’s 6th floor conference room at the State Capitol.
The agenda includes updates on the Minor Use Pesticide Fund and the Pesticide Harmonization Grant Program, presented by Lilliann Johnston. Additionally, the board will review new funding requests for minor use pesticide initiatives aimed at improving crop management.
Proposed projects include strategies to enhance the management of field peas, chickpeas, and dry beans through seed treatments, planting schedules, and optimized fungicide applications. These initiatives, presented by a North Dakota State University representative, focus on combating root rot, powdery mildew, Ascochyta blight, and white mold in various crops.
The board will also evaluate funding requests from the North Dakota Grain Growers Association for a proposed E-Tour project. This initiative aims to support agricultural producers with better crop protection product options.
The Crop Protection Product Harmonization and Registration Board plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing crop protection product labeling needs, ensuring producers in North Dakota have access to a broader range of options.
This meeting provides an opportunity for stakeholders to stay informed about developments in crop protection and pesticide management in the state. The board remains dedicated to advancing agricultural solutions to support North Dakota’s producers.
