Advisory Committee to Review Agricultural Land Acquisition Plans

Advisory Committee to Review Agricultural Land Acquisition Plans

By Scout Nelson

The Non-Profit Corporation Agricultural Land Acquisition Advisory Committee will hold its next meeting on July 29, 2025. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Central Daylight Time at the Farmers Room in the Walsh County Courthouse, located at 600 Cooper Avenue, Grafton, North Dakota.

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together committee members to review plans related to agricultural land acquisition. These meetings help ensure that land purchases and related decisions are made with care and input from various experts and stakeholders in the farming community.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring will open the meeting by welcoming all attendees and sharing his remarks with the committee. His words are expected to highlight the importance of responsible land acquisition and the role of the committee in supporting agriculture in the state.

Following the welcome, there will be introductions from both new and returning committee members. This part of the meeting allows everyone to connect and understand each member’s role within the advisory group.

A key topic of the agenda will be the review of a proposed acquisition plan presented by the American Foundation for Wildlife (AFW). The committee will discuss the details of this plan and provide feedback or recommendations as needed.

After all discussions and reviews are completed, the meeting will end with an official adjournment.
