For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 5% very short, 32% short, 59% adequate, and 4% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 4% very short, 28% short, 65% adequate, and 3% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 6% poor, 37% fair, 49% good, and 8% excellent. Soybeans setting pods was 86%, behind 92% last year, and near 90% for the five-year average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 24% fair, 61% good, and 13% excellent. Spring wheat coloring was 94%, behind 100% last year and 99% average. Mature was 64%, well behind 94% last year and 88% average. Harvested was 18%, well behind 69% last year and 49% average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 19% fair, 67% good, and 11% excellent. Durum wheat coloring was 91%, behind 99% last year and 98% average. Mature was 60%, well behind 93% last year, and behind 79% average. Harvested was 23%, well behind 53% last year, and behind 31% average.

Winter wheat harvested was 89%, near 93% last year, but ahead of 83% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 4% poor, 28% fair, 57% good, and 11% excellent. Corn silking was 95%, near 98% both last year and average. Dough was 61%, behind 71% last year, but near 59% average. Dented was 6%, behind 20% last year and 14% average.

Canola condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 32% fair, 55% good, and 11% excellent. Canola coloring was 87%, near 91% both last year and average. Harvested was 15%, behind 21% last year, and near 18% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 5% very poor, 5% poor, 25% fair, 50% good, and 15% excellent.

Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 24% fair, 70% good, and 5% excellent. Oats coloring was 93%, behind 98% both last year and average. Mature was 74%, behind 92% last year and 86% average. Harvested was 32%, well behind 63% last year and 56% average.

Barley condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 31% fair, 58% good, and 10% excellent. Barley coloring was 96%, near 99% both last year and average. Mature was 70%, well behind 94% last year and 92% average. Harvested was 30%, well behind 75% last year and 61% average.

Dry edible peas dropping leaves was 84%, behind 98% last year and 97% average. Harvested was 50%, well behind 83% last year and 72% average.

Sunflower condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 20% fair, 69% good, and 9% excellent. Sunflowers blooming was 95%, near 94% both last year and average. Ray flowers dry was 19%, behind 32% last year and 27% average.
