Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) continues to strengthen its commitment to agricultural education through the North Dakota Farm Management Education Program, which supports farmers and ranchers in achieving business and personal success.
The program provides individualized guidance to help participants develop accurate financial records and make sound farm management decisions.
With the addition of Ashley Abrahamson as a new Farm Management Education Instructor this fall, DCB now operates with four instructors serving 113 producers across North Dakota. Instructors are located in Bottineau, Minot, Rugby, and Stanley, making the program one of the most accessible in the state.
Ashley brings a strong background in agriculture and hands-on experience to her new role. She grew up in New Salem, North Dakota, on a diversified farm and ranch. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from North Dakota State University (NDSU), with minors in Agribusiness and Equine Science.
While at NDSU, she was an active member of the rodeo team, competing in breakaway roping, goat tying, and barrel racing. Today, she and her husband, Kyle, manage their own farm, ranch, and trucking operation near Berthold, ND.
Enrollment for the Farm Management Education Program officially opens each fall, but new producers are welcome to join anytime. The program benefits both new and experienced farmers by providing tools for better recordkeeping, financial tracking, and long-term planning.
A local farmer shared, “The Farm Management Education Program helps me understand how my numbers trend from year to year and compare them with other producers.”
The program operates in collaboration with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and continues to serve as a vital resource for producers aiming to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability in their operations.
