96 Percent of N.D. Wheat Fair to Excellent



For the week ending January 1, topsoil moisture supplies rated 8% very short, 34% short, 52% adequate, and 6% surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 10% very short, 41% short, 45% adequate, and 4% surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 48% fair, 46% good, and 2% excellent.

Cattle and calf conditions rated 1% very poor, 6% poor, 37% fair, 51% good, and 5% excellent.

Sheep and lamb conditions rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 39% fair, 47% good, and 7% excellent.

Hay and roughage supplies rated 1% very short, 9% short, 87% adequate, and 3% surplus.

Stock water supplies rated 2% very short, 16% short, 80% adequate, and 2% surplus.
