Shape your farm's future - Succession Planning Workshop

Shape your farm's future - Succession Planning Workshop

By Scout Nelson

Embark on the journey of shaping your family farm's future at the Succession Planning Workshop in Underwood, ND. Scheduled for February 1, 6, and 8, 2024, with a makeup day on February 13, this workshop is designed to simplify the first and often hardest step in succession planning.

The program delves into four crucial components: planning for your business, planning for retirement, managing the transition, and handling estate matters. It's an opportunity to clarify your vision for the family farm or ranch and set in motion the process of transferring it to the next generation or making decisions about dividing assets.

Participants will receive a resource binder and workbook, invaluable tools for starting their succession plan. The workshop aims to equip attendees with the skills to effectively communicate and plan, laying the groundwork for their family farm or ranch legacy.

Ideal for families looking to shape their future ownership and even those who have attended similar programs, this workshop offers a fresh perspective and practical steps.

The registration fee is $175 for the first family member and $50 for additional members from the same operation, promoting family involvement.

The sessions include catered meals by the Rusted Rail in Underwood, featuring a Taco Bar, Soup and Sandwich, and Ribs on respective days.

Proudly supported by NDSU Extension, North Dakota Annie’s Project, and the North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation, this event is a must-attend for families ready to embark on their succession planning journey.
