Cass County Extension will host a Private Applicator Pesticide Training on February 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST. The in-person event will take place at the Cass County Annex Building in Fargo, North Dakota. Check in will begin at 12:30 p.m., and the training session follows in the Bison Room.
This training will help private pesticide applicators maintain their certification. Private applicator certification expires every three years. Current applicators whose certification will expire on April 1, 2026, will need to be recertified. They can meet this requirement by attending an approved training session or by taking an exam.
The program provides important updates and guidance on pesticide use, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. It ensures that farmers and applicators follow safe handling practices and protect crops, people, and the environment. Maintaining certification also supports responsible farm management and professional standards in agriculture.
Participants are encouraged to register for the event in advance. The session allows applicators to complete renewal requirements in a structured and informative setting. By attending, farmers stay current with state rules and strengthen their understanding of pesticide application practices.
Individuals who have questions about the event can contact the Cass County Extension office. The listed contact person for this event is Lilly Bina. She can be reached by email lilly.bina@ndsu.edu for additional information regarding registration or certification requirements.
Requests for accommodations related to disability should be made to the event contact person. This ensures that proper arrangements are made to support all participants.
This training provides a clear path for applicators to renew their credentials, remain compliant with regulations, and continue safe and effective pesticide use in their farming operations.
