North Dakota State University Extension is hosting a Rural Resilience Retreat on May 13 in Washburn, North Dakota. The retreat aims to address the wellness needs of individuals in agriculture and related fields, focusing on farm/ranch stress and overall well-being. Open to anyone interested, the event features informative sessions and activities from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Renowned speakers will cover topics such as agriculture realities, emotional communication, stress management, wellness efforts, and self-care. The goal is to equip participants with skills to support their mental and behavioral health and that of their peers.
Sean Brotherson, a family science specialist with NDSU Extension, emphasizes the toll that farm and ranch stress takes on mental and emotional well-being. The retreat aims to create a supportive environment through informative sessions and interactive activities.
Limited to 60 participants, the retreat costs $40, including breakfast and lunch. Registration can be completed online by May 7.
