The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) participated in the 22nd China Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE), showcasing American grains and high-value co-products.
The expo featured over 1,500 global exhibitors and attracted more than 230,000 visitors, confirming its position as Asia’s top livestock event.
At the centre of the exhibition, the Council highlighted the benefits of U.S. grains, with a special focus on corn fermented protein (CFP).
CFP is a high-protein, plant-based ingredient that improves feed efficiency and supports sustainable livestock production. Many Chinese feed producers and nutritionists showed strong interest in its potential.
“The U.S. Grains Council remains fully committed to our mission of developing markets, enabling trade and improving lives in China,” said Manuel Sanchez, USGC Director in China.
During the event, USGC staff—including Sanchez, Brian Wang, Xiaoming Wang, and Linda Li—held productive discussions with stakeholders about formulation trends, supply reliability, and cost-effective nutrition solutions.
A technical seminar, hosted by the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office, further emphasized the value of CFP. Dr. Zhu Zengyong from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences highlighted CFP's role in China’s efforts to reduce soybean meal dependency and improve feed efficiency.
The Council also hosted a high-level dinner with top executives from China’s livestock and aquaculture industries.
Companies such as CP Group, New Hope Liuhe, and COFCO joined discussions on nutrition innovation and cost control.
Several Chinese firms expressed interest in conducting feed trials with CFP and deepening partnerships with U.S. suppliers.
The Council’s presence at CAHE helped build a strong foundation for future collaboration between the U.S. and Chinese agriculture sectors.
