N.D. Spring Wheat Harvest Nearing Completion

For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 15% very short, 39% short, 45% adequate, and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 13% very short, 38% short, 48% adequate, and 1% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 38% fair, 50% good, and 4% excellent. Soybeans dropping leaves was 72%, behind 89% last year and 86% for the fiveyear average. Harvested was 5%, behind 24% last year and 16% average.

Spring wheat harvested was 93%, behind 100% last year, and near 96% average.

Durum wheat mature was 92%, behind 100% both last year and average. Harvested was 84%, behind 100% last year and 93% average.

Winter wheat planted was 60%, near 62% last year and 56% average. Emerged was 13%, near 9% last year and 14% average.

Corn condition rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 36% fair, 51% good, and 4% excellent. Corn dented was 88%, behind 95% last year, but near 87% average. Mature was 36%, well behind 62% last year, and behind 45% average.

Canola harvested was 76%, behind 90% last year and 86% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 2% very poor, 3% poor, 31% fair, 50% good, and 14% excellent. Sugarbeets harvested was 13%, equal to last year, and near 14% average.

Oats harvested was 97%, near 100% last year, and equal to average.

Barley harvested was 95%, behind 100% last year, and near 99% average.

Sunflower condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 29% fair, 54% good, and 9% excellent. Sunflowers ray flowers dry was 92%, near 96% last year and 95% average. Bracts turned yellow was 76%, behind 89% last year and 84% average. Bracts turned brown was 35%, behind 54% last year and 50% average.

Flaxseed harvested was 85%, behind 96% last year, and equal to average.

Potato condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 28% fair, 55% good, and 16% excellent. Potatoes vines dry was 80%, behind 89% last year and 92% average. Harvested was 49%, near 45% last year, and ahead of 44% average.

Dry edible bean condition rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 39% fair, 47% good, and 7% excellent. Dry edible beans dropping leaves was 95%, near 98% both last year and average. Harvested was 48%, well behind 71% last year, and behind 64% average.

Lentils harvested was 82%, behind 99% last year and 89% average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 5% very poor, 16% poor, 44% fair, 33% good, and 2% excellent.

Stock water supplies rated 7% very short, 27% short, 65% adequate, and 1% surplus.
