Hard Red Spring Wheat Emergence Doubles 2014 Pace

Planting of the U.S. hard red spring wheat crop is now at 96 percent complete, compared to the average of 79 percent. Small portions remain to be planted in North Dakota, Montana and South Dakota. Emergence is also ahead of average with 80 percent of the U.S. crop emerged, double last year's pace. In North Dakota, 71 percent of the crop has emerged, ahead of last year's pace of 23 percent.
