North Dakota awards funds for Ag development

By Scout Nelson

The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Committee has awarded $419,000 to support seven innovative agricultural projects across the state. These projects include $100,000 to evaluate the use of ceramic resin and corn stover as alternative carbon sources and $48,000 to develop drone machine learning technology for detecting invasive species. These initiatives aim to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of North Dakota’s agricultural sector.

In addition to these funds, the Agricultural Diversification and Development program awarded $625,000 to four other projects. These projects will assist in expanding agricultural operations by funding equipment purchases to manage increased potato production, identity-preserved grain processing equipment, and the construction of robotic dairy facilities. The approved projects are expected to contribute significantly to the state's agricultural diversification and technological advancement, fostering growth and development in North Dakota's farming communities.

These grants reflect North Dakota’s commitment to supporting agricultural innovation and sustainability, ensuring the state remains at the forefront of agricultural development.
