Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has recently opened applications for a new grant program aimed at assisting value-added agriculture companies. This initiative focuses on helping these companies expand their presence in domestic wholesale markets by participating in trade shows outside their home state.
Goehring highlights the benefits of exhibiting at these trade shows, which include increased sales opportunities, the establishment of vital business connections, and market diversification. The program specifically targets companies that promote specialty crops like dry edible beans, peas, lentils, honey, confection sunflower, and potatoes.
Eligible companies can receive reimbursements for their expenses, with a cap of $7,000 per show, covering a significant portion of the costs involved in trade show participation.
For those interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, further details about the program, upcoming trade show dates, and application deadlines can be found on the North Dakota Department of Agriculture website. Shanna Johnson, the contact person for the program, is available for additional queries and support at 701-390-7515 or shljohnson@nd.gov.
