The 2025 Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop, jointly hosted by the NDSU Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension, is now open for registration. Scheduled for February 11 and 12 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo, this workshop offers a vital platform for agricultural professionals to deepen their knowledge and skills in crop production.
Since its inception in 1993, the workshop has become a key event for crop consultants, agronomists, and Extension agents. This year’s workshop promises an array of engaging topics and sessions, spearheaded by well-known specialists in the field. Jeff Stachler, an NDSU Extension cropping systems specialist, highlighted the introduction of a new pest identification quiz that adds an interactive element to the learning experience.
The workshop kicks off on February 11 at 9 a.m., with the first general session starting at 10:15 a.m., featuring Andrew Friskop’s insights on "Wheat and Corn Diseases – Familiar Foes and Emerging Threats." The afternoon sessions will cover diverse topics such as weed management in wheat, pesticide pre-mixtures, and soil health principles.
The following day begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by Wade Webster’s presentation on "A Cornucopia of Soybean Diseases." Subsequent sessions will explore subjects including canola production, the future of dry bean production, carbon programs, and advanced pesticide applications.
Participants have the opportunity to earn up to 10 continuing education units, a valuable component for professionals seeking to maintain their certification and enhance their expertise.
The registration fee includes full access to all sessions and meals, with a cost of $200 for both days if preregistered by February 6. After this date, or for those registering on-site, the fee increases to $250. Due to the limited capacity of 150 participants, early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
For additional details or to register, attendees are directed to the workshop’s website or can contact Linda Schuster and Jeff Stachler via email.
This workshop not only offers a chance to gain valuable insights but also to network with peers in the agricultural field, making it a must-attend event for professionals committed to advancing in the industry.
