NDSU Hosts 51st Annual Harvest Bowl

NDSU Hosts 51st Annual Harvest Bowl

By Scout Nelson

The 51st annual Harvest Bowl program at North Dakota State University (NDSU) will be celebrated on November 14 and 15, honoring the remarkable contributions of agriculturists, student athletes, and agribusiness leaders from across the region.

Each year, the Harvest Bowl recognizes outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota. The event also awards scholarships to deserving NDSU student athletes and honors one distinguished Agribusiness Award recipient for excellence in agriculture and business leadership.

This year, 25 NDSU athletes will receive scholarships supported by various endowments and agricultural partners. Recipients represent sports such as football, track and field, volleyball, wrestling, golf, and cross country.

Many students are majoring in agriculture-related fields like Agribusiness, Crop and Weed Science, and Agricultural Economics, reflecting NDSU’s strong connection to agricultural education and community service.

Highlights of the celebration include a Harvest Bowl Dinner and Awards Program on November 14 at the Red River Valley Fair Association in West Fargo. The event will conclude with the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and Northern Iowa on November 15 at the Fargodome.

The Harvest Bowl remains one of NDSU’s most meaningful traditions, showcasing the unity between athletics, education, and agriculture. It not only honors local farming leaders but also empowers future generations of agricultural professionals through academic support and recognition.
