The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) will hold its next meeting on Thursday, November 21, at 8:30 a.m. at the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC, located at 1640 Burnt Boat Rd., Bismarck, ND.
The meeting will open with a call to order and a business session to review previous minutes, financials, guidelines, applications, and eligibility considerations.
Starting at 8:50 a.m., the commission will assess project proposals from various North Dakota businesses, each aimed at boosting agricultural marketing and product utilization. Among the applicants, Dakota Don’s Artisan Waffles, LLC of Grand Forks is requesting $59,500 for a project totaling $86,000, while the North Dakota Department of Agriculture seeks $81,000 for an initiative costing $101,250.
Other notable presenters include the National Agricultural Genotyping Center, Lake Agassiz Regional Council, and BI Biorefinery, LLC, with projects spanning genotyping, regional economic support, and biorefining.
The agenda also includes proposals from meat processing businesses, such as Nodak Meats LLC of Steele and Smoke Wagon Meats, LLC of Walhalla. Smoke Wagon Meats is applying for $180,000 in funding for a farm diversification project totaling $240,000.
After a working lunch, the commission will reconvene at 12:30 p.m. to make funding decisions based on the presentations. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 1:30 p.m. This gathering highlights North Dakota’s ongoing commitment to advancing agricultural products, supporting innovative projects across the state.
