Farms are more than just land and crops; they represent a family's legacy. To ensure this legacy is passed down smoothly, it's crucial to have a succession plan in place. Recognizing this, the North Dakota Farmers Union and NDSU Extension are offering a unique opportunity for farm families.
On Dec. 14, the Bismarck Event Center will be the venue for a vital workshop on farm and ranch succession planning. NDFU President Mark Watne emphasizes the importance of such discussions, stating, "Every farm family will reach a point where decisions about future ownership need to be made."
The "Design Your Succession Plan" workshop is designed to facilitate these discussions. Attendees will learn how to initiate and maintain meaningful dialogues about farm ownership transitions. Additionally, they will get insights into creating a succession plan and collaborating with legal and financial experts to ensure its success.
Interested parties can register for this free event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ndfu.org or through the NDFU app until Dec. 11. For further details, individuals can reach out on 800-366-6338. Don't miss this chance to safeguard your family's agricultural future.
