The 2025 Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop is approaching, scheduled for February 11-12 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. This event is designed for professionals in agriculture, including crop consultants, agronomists, Extension agents, and ag businesses.
Attendees can earn 10 continuing education credit hours for Certified Crop Advisers, but you don't need to be a CCA to participate. The agenda covers various essential topics, including plant diseases in corn, soybeans, and wheat, and pesticide application decisions.
One of the sessions will focus on pre-mixtures, which are convenient all-in-one pesticide solutions. The discussion will delve into whether the active ingredients are present in the right quantities.
NDSU's new soils team will introduce themselves and share their goals, discussing soil health principles and potassium fertility. An economist will join to discuss carbon programs, reflecting on the economic trends related to carbon in agriculture.
In addition to soil and crop management, the workshop will explore innovative topics like drones for pesticide applications and the economics of carbon trends. Sessions will also cater to wheat and canola growers, offering strategies for effective crop rotation and pest management.
A special focus will be given to dry bean production, including weed and disease management. Participants will engage in a hands-on ag pest identification quiz, with preserved samples and a live weed exhibit.
The workshop is co-hosted by NDSU Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension, with a planning committee comprising regional experts.
This event promises valuable insights for those involved in agriculture, helping them stay ahead of emerging trends and improving crop management practices. Register online to secure your spot and enhance your agricultural expertise.
