For the week ending Sunday, there were 4.5 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 6 percent very short, 17 short, 67 adequate, and 10 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 8 percent very short, 17 short, 67 adequate, and 8 surplus.

Soybean condition rated 3 percent very poor, 7 poor, 27 fair, 54 good, and 9 excellent. Soybeans blooming was 96 percent, near 100 last year and 99 for the five-year average. Setting pods was 78 percent, behind 96 last year and 91 average. Dropping leaves was 1 percent, behind 16 last year and 7 average.

Spring wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 6 poor, 22 fair, 59 good, and 12 excellent. Spring wheat coloring was 97 percent. Mature was 71 percent, well behind 92 last year. Harvested was 12 percent, well behind 55 last year and 43 average.

Durum wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 7 poor, 20 fair, 58 good, and 14 excellent. Durum wheat coloring was 95 percent. Mature was 66 percent, behind 83 last year, but ahead of 59 average. Harvested was 7 percent, well behind 31 last year.

Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 5 poor, 16 fair, 63 good, and 15 excellent. Winter wheat mature was 95 percent. Harvested was 57 percent, well behind 88 last year, and behind 73 average.

Corn condition rated 1 percent very poor, 6 poor, 20 fair, 59 good, and 14 excellent. Corn silking was 94 percent, behind 100 last year, and near 97 average. Dough was 18 percent, well behind 81 last year and 58 average.

Canola condition rated 1 percent very poor, 6 poor, 25 fair, 56 good, and 12 excellent. Canola coloring was 87 percent, behind 95 last year, and near 91 average. Harvested was 5 percent, behind 24 last year and 17 average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 1 percent very poor, 2 poor, 8 fair, 14 good, and 75 excellent. Sugarbeets harvested was 1 percent, near 2 last year, and equal to average.

Oats condition rated 0 percent very poor, 3 poor, 20 fair, 66 good, and 11 excellent. Oats coloring was 92 percent. Mature was 58 percent, well behind 92 last year. Harvested was 19 percent, well behind 63 last year and 56 average.

Barley condition rated 1 percent very poor, 5 poor, 17 fair, 67 good, and 10 excellent. Barley coloring was 98 percent. Mature was 78 percent. Harvested was 19 percent, well behind 77 last year and 62 average.

Dry edible peas condition rated 1 percent very poor, 5 poor, 17 fair, 67 good, and 10 excellent. Dry edible peas dropping leaves was 95 percent. Harvested was 44 percent, well behind 80 last year and 64 average.

Sunflower condition rated 1 percent very poor, 2 poor, 18 fair, 73 good, and 6 excellent. Sunflowers blooming was 83 percent, behind 97 last year. Ray flowers dry was 10 percent, well behind 33 last year.

Flaxseed condition rated 0 percent very poor, 5 poor, 21 fair, 67 good, and 7 excellent. Flaxseed coloring was 87 percent, behind 92 last year, but near 85 average.

Potato condition rated 0 percent very poor, 16 poor, 30 fair, 47 good, and 7 excellent. Potatoes rows closed was 90 percent. Vines dry was 4 percent, behind 16 last year.

Dry edible bean condition rated 3 percent very poor, 12 poor, 35 fair, 44 good, and 6 excellent. Dry edible beans setting pods was 94 percent. Dropping leaves was 21 percent, well behind 56 last year, and behind 27 average.

Alfalfa condition rated 1 percent very poor, 9 poor, 26 fair, 55 good, and 9 excellent. Alfalfa second cutting was 70 percent, behind 86 last year and 79 average. Lentils harvested was 4 percent, well behind 35 last year.
