USPS service talks set for North Dakota

USPS service talks set for North Dakota

By Scout Nelson

Senator John Hoeven is set to host a pivotal meeting with top U.S. Postal Service officials on Monday, August 26, at Grand Forks City Hall. The roundtable, featuring USPS Minnesota-North Dakota District Manager Angela Bye and Midwest Processing Division Director Kathy Hand, marks a significant effort by Hoeven to bring transparency and improvement to mail services in the region.

This meeting is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first of its kind, initiated by Hoeven’s collaboration with Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and Angela Bye. The goal is to openly discuss potential changes in mail processing and address community concerns directly. This proactive approach follows the extended audit of the USPS by the Inspector General, which now encompasses all of North Dakota at the insistence of Hoeven and the state’s congressional delegation.

Scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT in the City Council Chambers at 225 N 4th St, the roundtable aims to provide a platform for detailed discussions on how to enhance the efficiency and reliability of mail delivery across the state. Stakeholders and community members look forward to understanding the planned modifications and expressing their expectations and suggestions.

By engaging directly with USPS leadership, Senator Hoeven underscores his commitment to ensuring that North Dakota residents receive reliable and efficient postal services. This meeting is a critical step towards fostering greater collaboration between the USPS and the communities it serves, ensuring that the voices of North Dakota’s residents are heard and acted upon in future postal service decisions.
