Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has introduced the Agriculture Infrastructure Grant Program, a funding opportunity created by the 68th Legislative Assembly. The program aims to award grants to political subdivisions in North Dakota to improve road, bridge, and utility infrastructure, supporting value-added agriculture businesses.
Value-added agriculture businesses that contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of a region or sector of the state are encouraged to partner with local political subdivisions to submit proposals for grants. The funding can be utilized for enhancing road, bridge, and utility infrastructure necessary for value-added agriculture facilities.
The new law grants 80% of project cost for road and bridge improvements, including corridor enhancements and value-added business access, for political subdivisions. Capital improvements, utilities, and agriculture businesses are also eligible.
