North Dakota State University (NDSU) Agronomy Seed Farm is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual field day on July 15. Located just outside Casselton, North Dakota, the event promises a deep dive into the latest agricultural research and developments.

The evening kicks off at 5 p.m. at the farm shop, where attendees can meet and engage with NDSU's top research and Extension specialists.

Brian Otteson, the Director of the Agronomy Seed Farm, highlights that the event is a fantastic opportunity for producers and agricultural enthusiasts to discuss current crop issues directly with experts. This year’s tour includes a rich lineup of topics and speakers poised to share valuable insights.

Andrew Green, an NDSU hard red spring wheat breeder, will review the 2023 hard red spring wheat trials and introduce the ND Stampede variety. Andrew Friskop, specializing in small-grain diseases, will share updates on corn and small-grain disease research.

Dave Franzen will reflect on the changes in North Dakota's soil fertility recommendations over the past three decades, marking significant shifts in agricultural practices.

Other notable speakers include Sam Markell and Wade Webster, who will discuss major diseases affecting soybeans and other broadleaf crops.

In addition, Carrie Miranda and Gustavo Kreutz will provide updates on the latest soybean research and varieties being developed at NDSU.

Insect pests won't be left out, with Jan Knodel and Pat Beauzay set to share their latest findings. To round off the educational experience, NDSU’s Carnivore Catering will prepare a meal for all participants, providing a perfect end to an enlightening day.

This field day is not just an event but a crucial learning experience for anyone involved in the agricultural sector, offering firsthand insights from the front lines of agricultural research.
