The North Dakota State Board of Agricultural Research and Education (SBARE) is asking residents to share input on agricultural research and Extension needs across the state.
SBARE plays a key role in providing recommendations to the legislature and governor on how North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension and the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station can best serve the state.
The board is beginning its planning process for the 2027 legislative session. All North Dakotans are invited to share their views on critical needs, possible solutions, and ways those solutions can add value for the state.
There are several ways to participate. Residents can give 10–15 minutes of in-person testimony at stakeholder sessions. Sessions are scheduled for Sept. 9 at the NDSU Extension office in Dickinson, Nov. 13 at the North Central Research Extension Center in Minot (with limited virtual slots), and Dec. 10–11 at the NDSU Peltier Complex in Fargo.
Another option is to submit testimony online through the SBARE portal or by mailing written comments to the NDSU SBARE office in Fargo. Examples of past priorities are also available online to help guide submissions.
NDSU Extension provides research-based education to people of all ages, with offices in every county, Research Extension Centers, and on the NDSU main campus. It works to strengthen agriculture, support youth and adults, and build stronger communities.
The North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station is a statewide research network that advances crop systems, livestock, and land management practices. Its work improves agriculture today while protecting natural resources for the future.
