Embarking on the journey of succession planning can be challenging. "Design Your Succession Plan for Farmers and Ranchers" is a workshop designed to simplify this process. Taking place at the NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center, this program is an essential guide for farm and ranch families looking to shape their legacy.
The workshop, spanning three sessions on December 5, 7, and 12, delves into the four pillars of succession planning: business, retirement, transition, and estate. It's more than just a learning opportunity; it's a hands-on experience where participants receive a resource binder and workbook to actively start their succession planning.
This program is not just for newcomers to succession planning. Even those who have attended similar workshops will find value in the practical approach and comprehensive resources offered.
Family participation is encouraged, with a fee structure designed to accommodate multiple family members. The initial registration fee is $175, covering meeting expenses and materials, while additional family members can join for $50 each.
To ensure a comfortable and engaging experience, a light supper is provided at 5:30 p.m., before the sessions begin at 6:00 p.m.
Understanding the importance of flexibility, the program offers a full refund for cancellations made two weeks prior to the start date. Accessibility is a priority, with accommodation available upon request for individuals with disabilities.
For more information or to register, interested participants can contact local extension agents Michelle Gilley at 701-947-2454, Jeff Gale at 701-652-2581, or Hannah Peterson at 701-547-3341.
This event is supported by NDSU Extension, North Dakota Annie’s Project, and the North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation, showcasing a strong community commitment to agricultural continuity and success.
