This December 15th, the Carrington Research Extension Center (REC) invites you to Central Dakota Ag Day, a prime event for those engaged in agriculture. Organized by Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent Jeff Gale, the event promises a wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities.
No need to pre-register; simply join us for a day filled with learning and interaction. Keynote speeches will bookend the day, offering insightful perspectives on agricultural trends. Attendees can enjoy a complimentary noon meal and refreshments, courtesy of our generous sponsors.
The day features three concurrent tracks, all under one roof. In the Agronomy sessions, experts will discuss updated fertilizer recommendations, benefits of reduced tillage, and management strategies for waterhemp and kochia. There will also be updates on wheat, corn, soybean, and dry bean production.
For livestock enthusiasts, sessions will cover emerging cow health issues, pasture weed control, NRCS programs for ranchers, rules for selling locker meat, and insights into cattle markets.
A new addition this year is the Ag Life sessions. These include insights into running a family custom harvest business, gardening in North Dakota, preparing competitive grain samples, and engaging 'edutainment' sessions with Sue Balcom.
Throughout the day, attendees can also explore various sponsored display booths.
This event is just a part of our busy schedule, which includes meetings with advisory boards and producer groups. Look out for future Center Points editions highlighting events like the NDSU Feedlot School and Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop. Also, registrations are open for the Getting It Right Crop Production webinars in December through March.
For more information or to register for any of these events, call 701-652-2951. Join us at Central Dakota Ag Day for an enriching experience in the world of agriculture!
