The North Dakota Soybean Council, in partnership with Cross Plains Solutions, the Casselton Fire Department, and the West Fargo Rural Fire Department, is set to host live firefighting demonstrations featuring SoyFoam at the Big Iron Farm & Construction Show in West Fargo. These demonstrations will take place from September 10 to 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day.
SoyFoamTF-1122, developed by Cross Plains Solutions using U.S. Soy, is an eco-friendly firefighting foam that safely extinguishes fires without the use of harmful chemicals. It forms a secure foam blanket, safe to touch, making it an ideal solution for fire departments concerned about the potential health and environmental hazards of traditional firefighting foams.
One of its standout features is its formulation, which is 100% free of fluorines and intentionally added PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), offering a safer and more sustainable firefighting alternative.
The demonstrations will be held at the Big Iron Show, located at 1805 Main Ave W. in West Fargo, ND, at a designated area south of the Cass County Farm Bureau’s Ag Education Building. The event provides an opportunity for attendees to witness firsthand the effectiveness and safety of SoyFoam.
U.S. soybean farmers, through the soy checkoff program, have played a pivotal role in supporting the extensive testing of SoyFoam, ensuring its environmental safety and firefighting performance. This innovative product exemplifies the diverse applications of U.S. Soy in creating sustainable solutions for various industries.
In addition, the North Dakota Soybean Council is offering North Dakota fire departments the chance to receive a free 5-gallon bucket of SoyFoam as a sample. To learn more or request a sample, visit https://bit.ly/NDSCSoyFoam.
This initiative highlights the council’s dedication to promoting safe and environmentally friendly firefighting products while supporting the local farming community through innovative uses of U.S. Soy.
