North Dakota Farmers Complete Soybean Harvest



For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 23% very short, 50% short, 26% adequate, and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 21% very short, 47% short, 30% adequate, and 2% surplus.

Soybeans harvested was 99%, ahead of 94% last year and 82% for the five-year average.

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 30% fair, 60% good, and 7% excellent. Winter wheat emerged was 91%, near 93% last year and 89% average.

Corn harvested was 74%, ahead of 67% last year, and well ahead of 47% average.

Sunflower condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 35% fair, 53% good, and 4% excellent. Sunflowers harvested was 62%, ahead of 50% last year and 49% average.

Flaxseed harvested was 99%, near 100% last year and 98% average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 2% very poor, 21% poor, 45% fair, 31% good, and 1% excellent.

Stock water supplies rated 13% very short, 42% short, 45% adequate, and 0% surplus.
