North Dakota State University (NDSU) recently hosted its 34th Annual Agriculture Faculty and Staff Awards, celebrating the remarkable efforts of its team. The event, led by prominent figures such as Greg Lardy and Carrie Hammer, highlighted the contributions in research, teaching, and extension services by the university’s dedicated personnel.

This year's ceremony was noteworthy with 54 nominations spanning 11 award categories, reflecting the diverse talent at NDSU. Among the awards, the Larson/Yaggie Excellence in Research Award was presented for outstanding research in agricultural and biosystems engineering.

Another highlight was the Eugene R. Dahl Excellence in Research Award, which recognized significant contributions in agribusiness and applied economics.

Teaching excellence was also a major focus, with awards like the Earl and Dorothy Foster Excellence in Teaching Award celebrating innovative teaching methods in agribusiness. Similarly, the Excellence in Extension Early Career Award and AGSCO Excellence in Extension Award were given to individuals who have made impactful contributions to NDSU’s extension programs.

Support staff were not left out, with awards such as the Charles and Linda Moses Staff Award and the Donald and Jo Anderson Staff Award acknowledging the crucial roles played by non-faculty members in supporting NDSU’s agricultural mission.

The event also embraced diversity with the Celebrate, Integrate, and Embrace the Power of Diversity Award, which underscored NDSU’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

The ceremony not only recognized individual excellence but also strengthened the sense of community within NDSU’s College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources.

It served as a reminder of the powerful impact that dedicated individuals can have on the agricultural sector and highlighted NDSU’s role as a leader in agricultural education and research.

In conclusion, the annual awards ceremony was a testament to the hard work and dedication of NDSU’s faculty and staff, who continue to drive forward the fields of agriculture, research, and education, supporting both current and future generations.
