Nelson Farms, located at 795 11th St. NE in Thompson, ND, invites farmers, researchers, and agriculture enthusiasts to attend an informative event focusing on crop research, plot tours, and seasonal updates. This event will take place near the intersection of 11th St. NE and County Road 81, just south of Grand Forks.
Attendees will hear from a variety of guest speakers, each offering expertise on different aspects of crop production. Dr. Andrew Friskop, the NDSU Extension Cereals Plant Pathologist, will share insights on plant health and disease management, while Andrew Green, the NDSU Wheat Breeder, will discuss wheat varieties and breeding advancements. Together, they will provide valuable information on the latest research and trends impacting local crop production.
The event will also include a tour of Nelson Farms’ research plots, where participants can see firsthand how various crops are performing in the region. This hands-on experience is an excellent opportunity for farmers to learn about the latest developments in crop management.
After the plot tour, attendees are invited to enjoy a supper provided by Skip's Gourmet Grub, along with refreshments at Nelson Farms’ shop. This informal gathering will provide a chance for further discussion and networking among attendees.
