North Dakota 4-H is preparing to host its State Livestock Judging Contest on March 20, 2027, in Watford City, North Dakota. The event brings attention to livestock education and youth development, giving young people interested in agriculture an opportunity to take part in a statewide judging activity.
The contest is listed as an all-day event. Organizers have not yet released the full schedule or additional information. Participants and families are encouraged to watch for updates as the event date approaches.
Livestock judging is an important educational activity in youth agriculture programs. It helps participants learn how to assess animals based on key traits, compare livestock, observe differences, and make informed decisions.
These activities can help young people build skills in observation, critical thinking, communication, and decision-making. They can also increase their understanding of livestock production, and the role animals play in the agricultural industry.
Through events such as the State Livestock Judging Contest, 4-H encourages young people to explore agricultural topics, learn from others, and gain experience that may support their future education and careers.
The contest takes place in Watford City, North Dakota, on Saturday, March 20, 2027. The event runs throughout the day, although the exact schedule and other details are still to be announced.
