North Dakota Senators have put forward Brad Thykeson as their choice for the next State Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Thykeson previously held the same position during a prior administration, where he successfully managed programs to support farmers during challenging times, including natural disasters and market disruptions.
In his earlier tenure, Thykeson played a key role in implementing FSA policies designed to assist agricultural producers. This included overseeing the USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, which provided relief to farmers and ranchers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Senators highlighted the importance of FSA's role in administering critical programs such as risk management, conservation efforts, and commodity price support. They expressed confidence that Thykeson’s experience as both a farmer and a former FSA director makes him well-suited to address the unique challenges faced by North Dakota’s agricultural community.
With his deep understanding of farming and North Dakota’s agricultural landscape, Thykeson is expected to bring strong leadership to the FSA, ensuring essential support for farmers and ranchers as they continue to contribute to the nation’s food supply.
