This year's Big Iron show in West Fargo, North Dakota, promises exciting opportunities for cattle producers, thanks to a series of informative livestock seminars hosted by North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension.
The event will cover a range of topics crucial for effective livestock management and development, delivered by knowledgeable Extension specialists.
On Tuesday, September 10, attendees can engage with Karl Hoppe, an Extension livestock specialist and cattle nutritionist, in an interactive session at 10:30 a.m. This discussion will focus on cattle feeding, management techniques, and general cattle care, offering a platform for producers to address their pressing questions.
Later that day at 1:30 p.m., John Biermacher, another Extension specialist, will update participants on the latest trends and developments in livestock across North Dakota.
The seminars continue Wednesday, September 11. Lisa Peterson and Lacey Quail, both specializing in livestock at NDSU Extension, will discuss the impact of body condition scores on cattle reproduction at 10:30 a.m.
Their insights will provide attendees with the latest information to enhance reproductive efficiency in their herds. Concluding the sessions at 1:30 p.m., James Rogers, a forage crops specialist, will share strategies for “Common Sense Grazing,” aimed at improving grazing practices.
These sessions not only offer cutting-edge knowledge but also foster an environment where producers can learn and grow together, ensuring the sustainability and profitability of their operations.
