Central Dakota Ag Day, hosted by North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension, is set to take place on Monday, December 16, at NDSU’s Carrington Research Extension Center. The event promises an engaging program filled with expert insights, practical sessions, and networking opportunities.
The keynote session, titled “D.C. Agriculture Update,” will feature Tom Brusegaard, a field representative for Senator John Hoeven. Brusegaard will discuss the latest developments in federal agricultural policies, including updates on the farm bill and other legislative priorities.
"We’re excited to have Tom Brusegaard, who will share valuable insights into federal agricultural policy decisions," says Jeff Gale, an NDSU Extension agent. "This is a terrific opportunity for producers to learn about what they can expect from future legislation.”
In addition to the keynote, Central Dakota Ag Day will offer 18 concurrent sessions covering agronomy, livestock, and agricultural life. These sessions provide practical knowledge for producers looking to enhance their operations.
The day will conclude with a general session by NDSU Extension crops economist Frayne Olson, titled “Now What? 2025 Crop Market Outlook,” offering valuable insights into future market trends.
The event begins with coffee and doughnuts at 9:30 a.m., followed by introductions at 9:50 a.m., and the first sessions starting at 10 a.m. Lunch will be provided, and no registration is required. Certified crop advisors can earn continuing education units through many of the seminars.
Central Dakota Ag Day is organized by NDSU Extension agents from multiple counties and staff from the Carrington Research Extension Center. This event is a must-attend for those seeking to stay informed about policy changes and advancements in agriculture.
