N.D. Sugarbeet Harvest Hits 19 Percent Complete

For the week ending Sunday, there were 1.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 49 adequate, and 50 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 2 short, 60 adequate, and 38 surplus.

Soybean condition rated 1 percent very poor, 9 poor, 29 fair, 54 good, and 7 excellent. Soybeans dropping leaves was 92 percent, behind 99 last year and 97 for the five-year average. Harvested was 8 percent, well behind 33 last year and 48 average.

Spring wheat harvested was 90 percent, behind 100 last year and 99 average.

Durum wheat harvested was 79 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 59 percent, well behind 83 last year and 84 average. Emerged was 36 percent, behind 51 last year and 48 average.

Corn condition rated 0 percent very poor, 6 poor, 22 fair, 62 good, and 10 excellent. Corn dented was 84 percent, behind 99 last year and 98 average. Mature was 22 percent, well behind 92 last year and 75 average.

Canola harvested was 69 percent, well behind 95 last year and 98 average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 7 fair, 15 good, and 74 excellent. Sugarbeets harvested was 19 percent, well behind 41 last year and 51 average.

Oats harvested was 95 percent, behind 100 last year, and near 99 average.

Sunflower condition rated 0 percent very poor, 2 poor, 29 fair, 62 good, and 7 excellent. Sunflowers bracts turned yellow was 88 percent. Bracts turned brown was 53 percent, well behind 89 last year and 78 average.

Flaxseed harvested was 63 percent, well behind 97 last year and 93 average.

Potato condition rated 0 percent very poor, 11 poor, 34 fair, 50 good, and 5 excellent. Potatoes vines dry was 93 percent. Harvested was 45 percent, well behind 73 last year and 69 average.

Dry edible bean condition rated 2 percent very poor, 11 poor, 30 fair, 51 good, and 6 excellent. Dry edible beans harvested was 41 percent, well behind 93 last year and 82 average.

Lentils harvested was 75 percent.

Pasture and range conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 5 poor, 21 fair, 58 good, and 15 excellent.

Stock water supplies rated 0 percent very short, 3 short, 68 adequate, and 29 surplus.
