Tuesday, July 18 is NDSU's Field Day

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 18th, as North Dakota State University's Carrington Research Extension Center (CREC) gears up for its annual Field Day. This event is designed to showcase the center's cutting-edge research and educational programs, covering a range of topics including crop agronomics, pest management, and safety.

Crop enthusiasts and industry professionals will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field, as NDSU crop scientists and Extension specialists take center stage as guest speakers. With two informative crop tours scheduled throughout the day, attendees can explore research trials and gain valuable insights into current production practices.

The morning crop tour, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, will offer updates from NDSU crop breeders on spring wheat, dry bean, and pulse crops. Attendees will also learn about the effective utilization of precision agriculture for weed management in corn. Soybean and canola production and their impact, both within and beyond North Dakota, will be discussed.

The second crop tour from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. will showcase various topics, including grain bin safety, Stop the Bleed training, a valuable session that requires pre-registration. NDAWN weather station capabilities, and live demonstration of harvest weed seed control using a combine-mounted seed destructor. Attendees will gain essential knowledge to mitigate risks.

Attendees can explore agronomy tours, northern hardy fruit, beef cattle management, and sustainable agriculture practices at this all-encompassing event. It will captivate and educate participants from various fields.

Join the event on July 18th for an exciting day of agricultural exploration and knowledge sharing at NDSU's Field Day.
