Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has named Travis Jepson as the 2024 Weed Control Partner Award recipient, recognizing his significant contributions to weed management. Jepson has served as the full-time weed officer for the Stark County Weed Board for 15 years and previously served as president of the North Dakota Weed Control Association.
Jepson’s remarkable efforts include developing and implementing an effective weed control program in collaboration with the Dickinson City Weed Board.
Commissioner Goehring praises Jepson’s deep involvement in his program, ensuring it benefits landowners across his county. Beyond his technical expertise, Jepson is recognized for his excellent communication skills, fostering ease and understanding among the community.
His collaborative approach is a hallmark of his tenure. Jepson promotes teamwork by engaging with landowners, other weed boards, and the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, creating a synergistic effort in tackling weed control challenges.
The award was presented to Jepson by Deputy Commissioner Tom Bodine at the 2024 Commissioner’s Noxious Weed Forum in Bismarck. This recognition is a testament to Jepson’s dedication and effective leadership in weed management, reflecting his unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and agricultural advancement.
