The American Soybean Association (ASA) is calling on members of Congress to move forward with a bipartisan five-year farm bill as the Senate Agriculture Committee begins reviewing the Agricultural Act of 2026.
The organization emphasized the importance of completing the legislation this year to provide stability and support for farmers facing economic challenges.
"America's soybean farmers continue to face a challenging farm economy marked by rising input costs, low commodity prices, and continued trade uncertainty," said ASA President and Ohio soybean farmer Scott Metzger.
"Now is the time for Congress to come together and pass a farm bill that supports the agricultural community and reflects today's economic realities across the finish line. Congress is once again nearing the expiration of the thrice extended 2018 Farm Bill and time is running out to deliver a new farm bill to America’s farmers."
ASA encouraged lawmakers to reach a bipartisan agreement and maintain progress toward delivering a comprehensive farm bill to the president this year.
