In a move set to bridge the needs of farmers with those of custom combiners, North Dakota’s Agriculture Commissioner, Doug Goehring, has launched the annual Harvest Hotline. The hotline, which was first introduced in 1992, became a necessity due to inclement weather that created a high demand for custom combining services.
A call to 701-328-5110 during weekdays, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., will get you directly to a representative from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. Those reaching out during evenings or weekends have the option to leave a message. There are no charges for utilizing this valuable service.
The hotline, the Department offers a self-service Harvest Hotline map. Interested individuals can visit https://www.ndda.nd.gov/ and navigate to "Resource Maps" to access this feature. Icons on the map give details about available harvesters in a specific location.
Commissioner Goehring mentioned that the service has garnered attention and is actively being used by both farmers and harvesters. This initiative stands as a testament to the state's commitment to assisting its agricultural community, ensuring resources and services are readily available when needed.
