North Dakota's agricultural landscape was surveyed for 6.1 days ending October 22, 2023, with topsoil and subsoil readings showing varying levels of soil moisture. Topsoil was found to be 5% very short, 22% short, 70% adequate, and 3% surplus, while subsoil was 9% very short, 33% short, 56% adequate, and 2% surplus.

Crop Round-Up:

Soybeans: Harvest stood at 85%, trailing last year's 90% but surpassing the five-year average of 70%.

Winter Wheat: Conditions ranged from 1% very poor to 3% excellent. Plantation achieved 92%, lagging behind the previous year's 98% and slightly behind the 96% average. Emergence came in at 74%, a dip from 86% last year and the 83% average.

Corn: With conditions varying from 3% very poor to 4% excellent, the harvest matched the previous year's 45% and was ahead of the 38% average.

Canola: Harvesting touched 97%, aligning with the average and just short of 100% last year.

Sugarbeets: Harvest rate reached 87%, lagging behind last year's 93% but surpassing the 75% average.

Sunflowers: Conditions spanned from 2% very poor to 8% excellent. With 92% of sunflowers' bracts turning brown, it's behind last year's 97% and closely follows the 96% average. Harvesting stood at 24%, a dip from 37% last year and the 32% average.

Flaxseed: Harvest rate met 93%, matching the prior year and slightly trailing the 95% average.

Dry Edible Beans: Achieving a 99% harvest, it closely followed last year's 98% and surpassed the 90% average.
