In a strategic move to position North Dakota at the pinnacle of bioscience evolution, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring disclosed the award of 25 grants, amassing $8.4 million. This initiative is tailored to nurture the rising bioscience industry, which has made its significant mark in areas ranging from agriculture to medicine.
Among the notable recipients are Agathos Biologics, receiving $300,000 for medicinal advancements, and National Agricultural Genotyping Center, granted $109,065, focusing on enhancing quality assurance in durum variety.
Other awardees encompass sectors from medical solutions, like TheraTec Inc.'s remote patient monitoring technology, to agricultural innovations, such as CamBioGene's new Camelina variety trials.
The grant selection process was meticulously overseen by a dedicated committee. This committee comprised Goehring, a delegate from the North Dakota Department of Commerce, and a representative from the state's bioscience association.
North Dakota aims to advance bioscience innovation, particularly in agriculture, and drive a new era of research and development.
