New Webisodes Highlight North Dakota Specialty Crops

By Scout Nelson

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the release of three more webisodes in the original series Fresh from North Dakota. The series highlights North Dakota’s specialty crops and is set to feature local chefs and mobile kitchen restaurateurs. The first webisode was released today, with additional episodes set to air every Wednesday through August 20, 2025.

The series showcases the culinary talents of North Dakota chef Trevor O’Clair and mobile kitchen owners Sam and Abby Williams. They feature local specialty crops in creative recipes, bringing attention to the diverse agricultural products of the state.

A packet containing all the recipes featured in the series so far can be picked up at participating farmers markets or requested directly from the website. This initiative is a great way to connect North Dakotans with the state’s local food culture and promote the benefits of using fresh, homegrown ingredients.

The series is funded by the USDA’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, which helps support projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops. The release of these webisodes continues the state’s commitment to promoting its agricultural diversity and educating the public about the importance of supporting local farmers and producers.
