NDSU Webinar on Tariffs and Trade Impacts

NDSU Webinar on Tariffs and Trade Impacts

By Scout Nelson

North Dakota State University Extension is gearing up to offer a timely and informative session as part of its monthly Agricultural Market Situation and Outlook webinar series. This special edition, scheduled for 1 p.m. Central Daylight Time on Friday, April 4, will focus on the current state of tariffs and trade and their implications for North Dakota’s agricultural sector.

The webinar will feature a panel of NDSU’s own experts, including Byron Parman, an agricultural finance specialist; Frayne Olson, a crops economist; Tim Petry, a livestock economist; and David Ripplinger, who specializes in bioproducts and bioenergy. These presenters will provide a comprehensive overview of the economic landscape affected by trade policies and will answer questions from participants after their presentations.

This event is designed not only to inform but also to engage. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with the economists, posing their own questions to deepen their understanding of how international trade policies shape local agricultural practices and economic strategies.

Registration for the webinar is straightforward. First-time attendees can sign up by visiting the event’s webpage at ndsu.ag/outlookwebinars. This page also offers additional resources, including a list of upcoming webinars and a recording of the most recent session in the series. It’s important to note that those who have attended previous webinars do not need to register again.

For anyone involved in or interested in agricultural economics, this webinar represents a crucial opportunity to gain insights into how global dynamics like tariffs and trade agreements impact local farms and businesses.

Whether you’re a seasoned farmer, a student of economics, or just keen to learn more about the agricultural sector, this webinar promises to deliver valuable perspectives and data that could influence decision-making in the challenging world of farming and agribusiness.
