Yasin Yildirim, a Ph.D. student from North Dakota State University (NDSU), has been chosen as a July 2025 Cultivator by the Farm Foundation. This honor highlights his hard work and his involvement with the Center for Agricultural Policy and Trade Studies at NDSU.
Yildirim will travel to Spokane, Washington, this summer to attend the Farm Foundation’s Round Table Meeting. This event gathers top leaders from across the agriculture and food industries. It gives selected students a chance to share ideas, ask questions, and learn directly from national experts in the field.
The Cultivator program helps young scholars and future leaders grow by connecting them with professionals in agriculture, economics, and food systems. Participants get the chance to improve their leadership skills and gain a better understanding of real-world policy issues.
Yildirim’s selection shows the strong research being done by young scholars in agriculture. It also shows how NDSU supports student success in important areas like agricultural policy and global trade.
Yildirim will be able to network with leaders, discuss key topics, and explore the latest challenges and solutions in agriculture. The Farm Foundation believes these types of experiences help students become future leaders in the industry.
Being named a Cultivator is a major achievement for any graduate student. It offers a special chance to make professional connections and represent both personal research and university-level contributions to agriculture.
